EveryDollar: Budget Your Money App Reviews

Great but....

Once inside of an item to document payments or income, theres no back button to get out and the app has to be closed and reopened to get back in.

Almost there...

I may give up on the app based solely on the fact that it doesnt add previous months funds to the following month (say I only spent $50/100, next month wouldnt say 150 total). It would be nice if it was an enabled feature; That would be amazing. Also, It took a little while to understand the layout and more of a tutorial would have been nice but Im pretty sure Ive figured it out. I had gone through several budget apps and so far for it being free (Ill probably purchase the account syncing capability) its the best one Ive come across.

BEST BUDGET APP EVER

I love, love, love this app!! Thank you Dave Ramsey!

Good but could be better

Ive been using this for a few months now and have really enjoyed it. The iPhone version (currently the only version) is user friendly and allows easy input of expenses and overview of monthly budgets. I wish it had a way to export the budgets to a PDF or other format so that I could save them to my computer. I have used apps before (Apples Numbers app) that have dropped data that can never be recovered. I just dont trust the cloud. Another improvement they could make is to develop a version for the iPad. Excel works so well on the iPad that I have had a hard time moving to this app exclusively. The on-line version does NOT interface with the iPad well at all. If they would simply take the iPhone version and port it over to the iPad and allow me to export the budgets or email the budget so that I could save it I would be a happy camper.

Best budgeting app ever

This is the most helpful and best free budgeting app I have found I absolutely love it. I love how its a zero based budget.

Very Simple - looking forward to more features

This is by far the best app / platform for creating a budget. I have used everything including paper and pen, a spreadsheet, and other inferior apps. None of them come close to the ease of use EveryDollar gives, nor do they meet the intuitive way of how budgeting works in the real world. Thank you to the creators! To those of you having troubles I have found the customer service for EveryDollar very helpful, before you give a negative review give them a shot.

Ehh...its alright.

As of February 2, 2016 the app is still a little confusing and the UI is rather clunky. However it definitely works and Im able to really track my budget. We are doing the full FPU class and giving every dollar a name. The app is the best of its kind, but Im still excited to see what happens in the future. Needs to run smoother and the UI could be cleaned up a bit.

UI

This app is atrociously complicated. I dont know if Im adding transactions for real or "planned" or how to get it to accurately reflect what my current balance is. Maybe the website is more self-explanatory, but holy cow this app needs serious work.

Continues to improve...

Updated review ... Developers are stubbornly insisting that "remaining" tab should only include current month for fund balances. The website behaves correctly but the app is still messed up. Dave constantly brags about hiring the best in the business. Seems that somebody on the team ought to have figured out by now that if two platforms of the same product dont behave the same way, its a BUG, not a feature. ============= V1.0.1 admittedly had some bugs, but V 1.0.3 is awful, especially for funds. Im grateful that I didnt upgrade the version on my phone - and really wish I could rollback on my iPad.

So much better than Mint

This is my first time writing a review for an app which should show how much I love it! Download NOW and use the Plus version free 15 day trial. This is just so much better than Mint. The user interface is awesome and its so easy to transfer your transactions into the proper category. My only ask (hi developers) is that for each category, it shows you how over/under you are in the budget instead of just summarizing how much you have left to spend at the top for all categories. It also looks like this has only been around for a year which means its only going to get better! To all of the negative reviews.... Rest assured that developers of apps are always trying to make the product better but sometimes dont have the manpower to do so all at once. Looking forward to see how much more awesome the app gets in the future :)

Great effort. Mobility is essential

Currently attending FPU- Financial Peace University and this app transitions perfectly into Daves plan for budgeting money. Love the ease and simplicity of the app doing all the calculations and allowing for ease of budget review and input of transactions. The tech support group is very responsive and posts how to notes in the help section. Updates for small tweaks would continue to improve functionality.

Love!

Very convenient - I especially love that the changes I make in the app reflect on the website version and vice versa!

Great zero-based budgeting tool

Love the new update! This is a fantastic mobile version of EveryDollar. Budgeting is fun again! This app transformed how my wife and I plan our spending and saving, especially now that we can edit our budget on the iPhone. Now we can keep our budget up-to-date daily. Well done Dave Ramsey & team!

A little confused

I really like the simplicity of this app. Ive gotten stuck a few times trying to enter different data. I dont have any specifics right now. Im used to the written budget form: allocated spending. Theres something for me about having that piece of paper that I can hold in my hand. My brother loves this app so Ill ask him for some help. Thank you for another great idea from Dave Ramsey!

Best budget app, but could be improved

Very easy to use and quick. Love the split feature. One of the improvements is to add the "favorites" section the web version has.

Great design, but transactions dont feed in premium version

Love the design of the front end. I had a budget set up for Feb in about five minutes, transitioned from my spreadsheet. I was excited about the free 14 day trial to load transactions from the bank. I really like how it forces user input to drop into a budget category. The bummer is when the transactions stopped feeding from the bank. So for me its back to Mint, which had a crummy front end but a stout back end data feed. I will be a happy paying customer when the issues get resolved, but will not be beta testing this as I am too busy to maintain two systems and need something that is up to date so my free spirit wife can have feedback on where we are at.

Not user friendly

I really struggled to find a use for this app. I heard Dave Ramsey pitch it halfheartedly as an alternative to Mint, so I figured Id give it a try. It was a headache from the word "go." The first thing I did after starting an account was reset my password, since the app wouldnt let me into my account. This was less than a minute after I opened the app for the first time, so not a great start. Beyond that, the functionality seems very limited. If I have to enter every transaction manually, rename every category manually, and even tell the app which paycheck is with, why have an app at all? I might as well just do a pen and paper budget. TL;DR - Just balance your checkbook manually. Its quicker than this.

No iPad version?

It seems that there is no EveryDollar iPad version. Please add!

Froze on first flash screen

I have been trying to install and open this app since 2 days no matter how many times I try ... It just freezes on the first flash screen. I like the web app but iphone app is a total failure for me.

Let me in??? Nope.

I signed up. Verify account. I waited for verification email and got a "download now" email. I clicked that and it took me iTunes to download. I would click that and it would open and when I signed in, it would say I have to verify email...and around and around Id go. Ill find another budgeting app.
